The HBC@ Program
Working
with museums, historic villages, zoos, and interpretive
farms to conserve Heritage Breeds.
|
Through the Heritage Breeds
Conservancy@ program, HBC joins efforts with with
museums, historic villages, zoos, and interpretive
farms to conserve heritage breeds of livestock that
are in danger of extinction.
By working with other organizations,
and through careful breeding and care, the HBC@
program enables HBC to increase the numbers of registered
heritage breed animals, and to accomplish several
goals in our mission:
|
|
Goals
of the Program
|
- To increase visibility of the organization
and increase the numbers of people who hear our message.
With HBC@ we will reach hundreds of thousands of people
beyond our current reach.
- Increase the number of registered
heritage breeds owned by HBC and increase the overall
population. Increase HBC's capacity for genetic conservation
and breeding.
- Establish strong relationships with
museums, historic villages, zoos, and interpretive
farms and to have a presence at such sites.
